The Magellan brand of portable GPS devices is known for its exclusive and high-tech GPS features. As a navigation consumer electronics company, it has earned over 200 key patents in GPS technologies. As the industry leader in GPS innovations, the brand introduced its award-winning series, the RoadMate and the Maestro. In addition to mobile navigation and mapping systems, the brand also supports phone-based GPS applications via kits and software GPS solutions. It managed to maintain a long-term partnership with companies like National Geographic, NAVTEQ and The Auto Club Group to introduce more exciting and new GPS programs and features.

If you are looking for a serious car navigation system, TomTom gains a clear advantage by offering quality map base data, custom navigation features, and speed profile applications. This ensures an accurate, quick and dedicated portable GPS system that you can conveniently travel with. TomTom products are even sold in more than 30 countries, which evidently show the trust given by the international market on its great valued products. Thanks to the public's continuous demand for an extensive fleet of surveying, navigating, route saving, route planning and direction giving functionalities, getting lost on the road will be a thing of the past.

Although Garmin, Magellan and TomTom brands became more popular, thanks to their consistently top rated GPS products, this is not to say that lesser known brands make bad GPS devices. There are several up and coming GPS brands that are bound to introduce great valued GPS models with impressive lists of portable GPS features.
